The mission of the PNW District Past Governors Committee is to provide assistance to, and promotion of, the Pacific Northwest District of Kiwanis International. The members promote the continued interest and participation of all of the Past Governors in serving through club and district activities.
The Jack Delf Award recognizes individuals that have distinguished themselves in Kiwanis and their communities and personal lives. The selection and recognition is administered by the Past Governors Committee. Nomination forms can be found here.
A Succession Sub-Committee works to seek out and encourage qualified Kiwanians to serve as leaders of the District, Division and their club. While the Past Governors Committee does not endorse candidates for Governor-Elect or Governor, it serves as a confidential sounding board for Kiwanis members seeking advice on potentially running for Governor-Elect and Governor. A handbook — download here — was developed to assist potential candidates. In addition, potential candidates are encouraged to seek out one or more past governors to serve as confidential advisors during their time as a candidate and/or while serving as a district officer.
District policy requires that members of the district who choose to run for international office (Trustee or Vice-President) must get the approval of both the Past Governors Committee and the International Leadership Committee.
Finally, Past Governors represent a link to our district’s history. There is a free online history book as well as other historical documents available at www.kiwanishistory.ca.
Feedback from all District members is appreciated, so feel free to contact us here.
